Today I went off to check out Dita Von Teese's new lingerie line at Target. I am not the hugest fan of her anymore, as when I had black hair I got a tad sick of the comparisons to her and Amy Winehouse (dear lord) but I had high hopes for her lingerie line.
I was thoroughly disappointed with the whole range, especially when I found many other almost identical garments for $10 in Target's discounted racks (ha! Take that!)
I did expect a lot more from her, considering she is an icon for many women out there. The garters were flimsy, the bras were like every other bra I've seen out there, and the panties weren't high waisted enough to be flattering.
I decided not to purchase any, and get something that isn't mass-produced and of better quality. Sorry, Dita, the hype around it wasn't worth it.
I did however try out my new little thrifted knitted sweater, which I paired with my knee length navy pencil skirt and a pair of lovely warm stockings!
My hair is curled using sponge rollers on the sides and back and pin curls on the top.
Please excuse the terrible phone editing! iPhone's are awful for pictures, haha.

You look absolutely wonderful...!
ReplyDeleteThank you heaps dear!
Deleteu look sooo pretty!!! i love your hair!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you! That means so much coming from you! <3
DeleteOh you're not the only one that was disappointed with Dita's line!
ReplyDeleteYou are absolutely right - the lingerie was pretty much the same as the Target brand stuff. I was very disappointed because I expected vintage shapes and much higher quality for something that has Dita's name on it... Needless to say I will not be buying it...unless it's on super sale :P
And just so you know, you are so stunning! I'm very pleased to have you on my reading list now :)

I love your blog and am so thankful for your comment! I honestly thought I was the only one disappointed by Dita's line, I think I'd rather save up for some What Katie Did, really.
DeleteOh and thank you, I've never been called that before, I think I'm a little pink in the cheeks!
xo
I myself am waiting to see what Dita's over-wire bra will look like in person. I am obsessing over that bra in peach and black. Thanks for commenting on my blog. I greatly appreciate it. I love your last picture. It looks like a chic 1940s or 50s ad campaign for sunglasses.
ReplyDeleteWell and I thought I would miss something by not having a target in my country... phew! ;)
ReplyDeleteps. I think your hair is soooo beautiful!
